Smotrich Says Council Will Advance 1,516 Homes and Formalize Three Communities

Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich said the Higher Planning Council will advance approval of 1,516 housing units in Judea and Samaria and formally regularize three communities. He said the plans span Binyamin, Samaria, Gush Etzion and the Jordan Valley, presenting the move as part of a broad construction and formalization policy. Smotrich, who also serves as a minister in the Defense Ministry responsible for civil affairs in Judea and Samaria, said the plans are important for Israel’s stability, security and resilience. In his announcement, he said Israel would continue pursuing construction and formalization because the land belongs to the Jewish people.
