UK Middle East Minister Presses Israel on Gaza Aid, Signs Egypt Migration Deal

British Minister for the Middle East Stephen Doughty ended his first visit to the region, a two day trip to Egypt, and called on Israel to allow more aid into Gaza. He toured aid logistics facilities at Al-Arish near the Gaza border, including more than 2 million pounds of British support channeled through the Egyptian Red Crescent. Doughty said current aid flows are too low and blocks must be removed. He met Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty and Ali Shaath of the National Committee for the Administration of Gaza, and signed a first British Egyptian migration partnership London says will cut removal times for Egyptian nationals by up to 90 percent.
