Netanyahu Orders Kafr Aqab UNRWA Center Evacuated Under 2024 Ban

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said the evacuation of UNRWA's Kafr Aqab compound in Jerusalem began under his direction and pursuant to legislation approved in 2024. He said Israel would not allow an organization whose employees participated in terrorism and the October 7 massacre to operate in its territory. The Foreign Ministry said Jerusalem Municipality will invest more than NIS 40 million in schools, a mosque, sports and health facilities at the site, which it says the Jewish National Fund has owned since 1937. UNRWA says Jordan provided the property under a 1952 agreement that remains in force and that the premises are inviolable.
