Audit Finds Terror Links for 120 Names on CPJ Gaza Journalist List

HonestReporting says its audit of CPJ’s database found terror affiliations for 120 of the 209 Palestinian journalists and media workers still listed as killed, about 57%. The 134-page review says 25 received terror-group martyr notices, 18 were identified as operatives by the IDF, 13 were linked through family statements or open sources, 61 worked for outlets associated with terror organizations, and three worked for outlets whose affiliation is disputed. CPJ said in June it had removed 15 of 224 names during its review, including eight for participation in hostilities. CPJ removes names when evidence shows a person was not working as a journalist at death or directly participated in hostilities.
