Federal Judge Dismisses Most Ben & Jerry’s Claims Against Unilever

U.S. District Judge P. Kevin Castel in Manhattan dismissed seven claims and part of an eighth from Ben & Jerry’s 10-count lawsuit against Unilever, while allowing two missed-payment claims and a challenge to new board-eligibility rules to proceed. The dispute follows years of tension after Ben & Jerry’s stopped sales in Judea and Samaria in 2021 and later accused Unilever of silencing Gaza-related statements. The surviving claims involve $2.5 million allegedly owed to Ben & Jerry’s and $2 million intended for Palestinian almond farmers under a 2022 settlement. The Magnum Ice Cream Company, now the brand’s owner, replaces Unilever as the primary defendant.
