Pakistan Says Iran Talks Focused on Reopening Hormuz and Ending War

Pakistan’s military said Field Marshal Asim Munir and Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi completed a day-long visit to Iran as part of efforts to break the stalemate in the conflict. The delegation met President Masoud Pezeshkian, parliament speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni and security official Mohsen Rezaei. The discussions covered preventing further escalation, reopening the Strait of Hormuz and an expedited end to the conflict. Pakistan said Iran’s leadership welcomed its role in facilitating dialogue and a negotiated settlement, but no agreement was announced.
