The IDF said it will begin replacing sealed reheatable Mehadrin trays with fresh, varied meals for Haredi soldiers in about two weeks. Base kitchens will provide the meals through regular food service while maintaining stringent halachic standards. The General Staff Supply Center and Logistics Corps developed the change with the Technology and Logistics Directorate, the Military Rabbinate and the adviser on Haredi affairs after soldiers and commanders reported gaps. The Military Rabbinate has also established a Mehadrin and Special Populations section to oversee policy, procurement, infrastructure, supervision and dedicated kitchen procedures.
