IDF Recruits Haredi Soldiers for Northern Command Intelligence Roles

The IDF recruited Haredi soldiers from the Maalot Tzur nonprofit to serve as intelligence researchers in Northern Command and Division 146 through the Reshit Hochma program. After adapted basic training, they will receive professional intelligence instruction focused on analyzing information and producing assessments for operational decisions. The service track also includes college studies toward a civilian profession. The IDF established a dedicated facility for the soldiers’ religious needs, where Division 146 commander Brig. Gen. Benny Aharon led a mezuzah-affixing ceremony last week and described their Torah-study depth and attention to detail as strengths for intelligence work.
