Highway 4 Reopens After Four-Hour Haredi Anti-Draft Protest

Members of the Haredi Jerusalem Faction blocked Highway 4 near Bnei Brak for four hours Monday, from about 16:00 until 20:00, while protesting the military detention of yeshiva student Israel Gohfi. Police closed the highway in both directions between the Aluf Sadeh and Em HaMoshavot interchanges as rush-hour traffic built across the central region. The Red Line light rail switched to shortened service, with no trains at its Petah Tikva stations during the disruption. The protest ended and the highway reopened Monday evening.
