Zamir Orders Another Standing Division Command on Alert for Judea and Samaria

Courtroom-sketch editorial illustration of IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir seated at the head of a long command-room table, with senior uniformed officers taking notes along both sides and Israeli flags behind him, drawn in warm ochre and slate-blue pastel with cross-hatching on sepia newsprint.

IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir ordered another standing-division headquarters placed on heightened alert to reinforce Judea and Samaria, the military said. The directive followed a multi-front assessment Thursday morning and cited tensions in the area and the approaching Jewish holidays. Zamir also ordered preparations for the immediate activation of additional units and battalions and said the IDF would maintain full readiness on every front through the holiday period, with no standdowns or thinning of operational forces. He said operational planning was advancing from Iran and Lebanon through Gaza.
