Araghchi Says Iran-U.S. Diplomacy Can Resume if Washington Drops Pressure

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said diplomacy with the United States could resume if Washington accepts that pressure does not work, builds trust, speaks respectfully, recognizes Iran’s rights and honors commitments. He made the statement after talks in Tehran with Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani. Qatar’s official news agency said the meeting covered de-escalation, dialogue, regional security, a temporary joint shipping corridor through the Strait of Hormuz and a joint mine-clearance project. The Qatari minister also stressed neighboring states’ sovereignty and freedom of navigation.
