First Reservist Families Move to Gaza-Border Kibbutzim Under $100,000 Home Pilot

Two reservist families moved to Kibbutz Holit this week under a pilot that helps service members settle in Gaza-border communities, while another participating family already lives in Kerem Shalom. Ten families are now relocating to Holit, Kerem Shalom and Sufa after collectively serving thousands of reserve-duty days since October 7. Participants first rent and integrate into kibbutz life; after about a year, those accepted as members who choose to buy a home can receive a $100,000 down-payment grant. Homes for Fighters raised the grants from Jewish philanthropists in Chicago and says the Gaza-border pilot could later expand to Israel’s north and south.
