Account Attributed to Iranian Military Spokesman Calls for Nuclear Weapons

An X account attributed to Ebrahim Zolfaghari, described as a spokesman for Iran’s Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters, called for nuclear weapons to deter Israel. The post addressed Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and argued that such weapons were needed after fighting in Gaza, Lebanon and Iran. No Iranian government or supreme-leadership announcement accompanied the statement, so it does not establish a change in state doctrine. The IDF’s Persian-language account has separately questioned whether Zolfaghari is a real official, making the account’s identity and authority disputed.
