Trump Says Renewed Iran Campaign Will Not Last Long

During an Oval Office meeting with U.S. travel executives, President Donald Trump said he did not think the renewed U.S. campaign against Iran would last long. He said oil was trading near $95 a barrel and predicted prices would fall. Trump claimed the United States had “very strong control” of the Strait of Hormuz, was moving ships carrying millions of barrels of oil through it, and was intercepting Iranian drones. He said Iran had tried to rebuild radar, missile systems and equipment intended to deploy mines; the United States had destroyed it after Iran fired at the U.S. base in Jordan and remained ready to strike again.
