Erdan Confirms Talks With Zelekha on Joint Election Run

Courtroom-sketch editorial illustration in a split-screen composition showing Gilad Erdan speaking and gesturing at a podium before Israeli flags on the left, and Yaron Zelekha speaking into a handheld microphone and gesturing on the right, drawn in warm ochre and slate-blue pastel with cross-hatching on sepia newsprint.

Gilad Erdan, chairman of the Unity Party, confirmed that contacts are underway with Professor Yaron Zelekha, chairman of the New Economic Party, over a joint Knesset run. Speaking at a Mishan Shabbat Tarbut event, Erdan said the talks would accelerate in the coming days. He said Zelekha’s platform addresses Israel’s cost-of-living pressures and that a partnership could offer voters one cohesive political force. Erdan also said he had met Benny Gantz twice and cited a broad Zionist government, universal national service and consensus-based judicial reform as shared priorities.
