Ayelet Shaked Confirms She Will Sit Out Upcoming Knesset Election

Former justice minister Ayelet Shaked said she will remain outside the political system in the upcoming election after concluding she had no realistic way to represent her supporters. She wrote that Israel had returned to two political camps and that a broad government crossing those camps was needed to address security, diplomatic and economic challenges, but was not possible in this election. Channel 13 reported she rejected an offer for the No. 2 spot on Benny Gantz's Blue and White list. Shaked thanked supporters, apologized to those seeking her return and said she would continue contributing to Israel outside politics.
