Gilad Erdan Pulls Unity Party From Knesset Race

Gilad Erdan said his Unity Party will not contest Israel’s coming Knesset election, about a month after launching its campaign. He said polling support did not give the party a high probability of crossing the electoral threshold, while possible alliances with other parties in the unity bloc were not materializing. Earlier talks with Benny Gantz’s Blue and White ended without an agreement. Erdan said voters were prioritizing a clear choice for prime minister over a broad unity government, thanked Yuli Edelstein and other partners, and said withdrawing the candidacy did not end his public commitment.
