Police Seize NIS 1.4 Million in Suspected Terror Funds at Tunnels Crossing

Jerusalem-envelope Border Police and crossing personnel stopped a vehicle traveling from Judea and Samaria toward Jerusalem at the Tunnels Crossing over the weekend. A search found a double wall containing two bags with about NIS 1.4 million in cash, which police suspect was connected to terrorism. Officers arrested the driver, a 29-year-old Jerusalem resident, and a court extended his remand through August 31. The Jerusalem District Central Unit and Shin Bet are investigating the money’s source, destination and intended recipient, which remain unestablished.
