Eisenkot Says Yashar Is Preparing Merger Surprises Within Three Days

Yashar chairman Gadi Eisenkot said his party is preparing further merger surprises over the next three days as the candidate-list deadline approaches. Speaking at a Friday Culture event in Rishon LeZion, he said talks about political unions are under way but declined to reveal them prematurely. Eisenkot predicted his camp would win more than 60 Knesset seats on October 27, compared with what he described as a current baseline of 58. In the same interview, he defended civilian authority over the IDF and criticized Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s national-security decision-making.
