Marcus Tavernier Scores Second Premier League Goal in Three Matches

Marcus Tavernier scored Bournemouth’s opening goal against Newcastle United in the ninth minute of Saturday’s Premier League match. Alex Scott’s deflected shot reached Tavernier, who reacted first in the penalty area and tapped in for a 1-0 lead. The strike was his second goal in his first three league matches of the season. His older brother James has completed medical checks, signed with Maccabi Tel Aviv and trained separately at Kiryat Shalom while the club awaits completion of his work-permit process before making the move official.
