IDF Launches Surprise Multi-Front Readiness Drill Ahead of High Holidays

IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir ordered a surprise General Staff exercise, Breaking Dawn 2.0, early Sunday to test readiness for a sudden, complex multi-front scenario. Commanders across commands, directorates and branches were called up, forces were mobilized, and reserve readiness, decision-making and operational responses were tested. The drill incorporates operational plans and lessons from the war and October 7, while examining preparations for the High Holiday period. The IDF said increased movement of security forces and aircraft would be visible nationwide and stressed that no security incident had prompted the exercise.
