IDF Reinforces All Three Commands and Raises Air, Naval Readiness for Yom Kippur

Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir ordered heightened IDF readiness through Yom Kippur, with dedicated reinforcement companies assigned to the Northern, Central and Southern Commands and a senior commander present in every sector. The Air Force will keep more armed aircraft ready, while the Navy will increase missile-ship presence and reinforce routine maritime-border patrols. Home Front Command headquarters will have a major general on duty and every district will have a district commander. Additional companies and General Staff reserves will remain ready for rapid reassignment, consistent with the IDF’s previously announced full multi-front holiday readiness.
