Mitsotakis Calls Israeli Air-Defense System the Best Available

Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis called the Israeli air-defense system Greece is acquiring “the best available” during his September 6 Thessaloniki International Fair press conference. He said Greece would continue its strategic defense cooperation with Israel while also deepening ties with Arab states. Israel’s Defense Ministry says the approximately €3 billion Achilles Shield agreement includes David’s Sling, SPYDER, BARAK MX and MMR radars under a national command-and-control system. The ministry described the deal as the largest defense-export agreement in Israel-Greece relations, alongside a separate €26 million Drone Dome purchase.
