Nechumi Yaffe Becomes First Woman on a Haredi Party’s Knesset Slate

HaTzibur HaCharedi, chaired by Moti Leitner, announced that Dr. Nechumi Yaffe joined its slate for the 26th Knesset, making her the first woman placed on a Haredi party’s Knesset list. Yaffe, 50, is a political-psychology researcher and senior lecturer at Tel Aviv University who is also affiliated with a Harvard project on Haredi society. She previously advised the National Security Council on Haredi affairs and poverty. After October 7, she founded a Haredi emergency center whose volunteers assisted Gaza-border evacuees and bereaved families.
