Nechumi Yaffe Joins HaTzibur HaCharedi’s Knesset Slate

HaTzibur HaCharedi, chaired by Moti Leitner, announced that Dr. Nechumi Yaffe joined its slate for the 26th Knesset. Yaffe, 50, is a political-psychology researcher and senior lecturer at Tel Aviv University who is also affiliated with a Harvard project on Haredi society. She previously advised the National Security Council on Haredi affairs and poverty. After October 7, she founded a Haredi emergency center whose volunteers assisted Gaza-border evacuees and bereaved families.

The sources agree on Yaffe’s candidacy and biography. Babli and Kikar describe her as the first woman on a Haredi party’s slate, while Kipa’s updated report notes an earlier woman candidate on Am Shalem’s list. The categorical first-ever claim is therefore not retained.
