The Population and Immigration Authority and Central Elections Committee announced nationwide walk-in applications for new identity cards ahead of the election. Starting Wednesday, applicants can visit any Population Administration bureau without booking an appointment, during the bureau’s published opening hours. Authority director-general Boaz Yosef and acting committee director-general Adv. Dean Livne reached the agreement on the service change. The authorities said the measure is intended to enable eligible voters who lack a valid identification document to exercise their right to vote.
