Moshe Rosenthal’s “Independence” Wins 10 Ophir Awards, Including Best Film

The Israeli Film Academy named Moshe Rosenthal’s “Independence” best feature film at the 2026 Ophir Awards on Wednesday evening. The film won 10 awards, with Rosenthal also receiving the directing and screenplay prizes. Its other wins covered cinematography, editing, art direction, costume design, makeup, casting, and recording and sound design. The Academy also named Yevgenia Dodina best lead actress for “Mama,” Ehab Elias Salami best lead actor for “Where To?,” Tiki Dayan best supporting actress for “Farewell to Dough,” and Ido Tako best supporting actor for “Where To?”
