PlantArcBio Reports Higher Corn Yields in First Israeli Open-Field Trial

PlantArcBio said its first replicated open-field corn trial in Israel produced heavier cobs from plants carrying its selected genes than from unmodified controls. The 2026 test covered 200 plots of inbred and hybrid corn grown from April through August under standard irrigation and severe drought. According to the company, lead genes more than doubled cob weight under both conditions; total cob weight per plot at harvest exceeded three times the control under irrigation and was comparable under drought. PlantArcBio said three advanced hybrid gene events also increased kernel yield in both settings, including cases above twice the control under drought. The findings are field-trial results, and the company is seeking seed-industry licensing partners.
