IDF Discloses Killing Hamas Nukhba Commander Involved in October 7 Abductions

The IDF and Shin Bet announced Sunday that an airstrike last week in the Khan Yunis area of southern Gaza killed Hisham Jamal Muhammad Abu Jalalah, a platoon commander in Hamas’s Nukhba unit. According to the IDF, he helped lead the raid on the Kissufim military outpost and participated in abducting Israelis during the October 7 massacre. The military said he had advanced terrorist attack plans against Israeli troops and civilians during the war and recently, while working to rebuild Hamas’s capabilities. It described those activities as systematic ceasefire violations and said the strike removed the threat he posed.
