German-Israeli Society Urges Expulsion of Iran’s Ambassador After Spy Verdict

German-Israeli Society president Volker Beck has called for Germany to expel Iran’s ambassador immediately and sharply reduce the embassy’s staff. In an October 15 statement welcoming a verdict over Iranian plots against Jewish and pro-Israel targets in Germany, he urged lasting, high-level protection for the institutions at risk. Beck said the plot against him was intended to silence an advocate of arms supplies for Israel’s self-defense. He described the case as a warning to German security policymakers and demanded a stronger response to threats from Iran.
