Netanyahu Publishes Security Doctrine Prioritizing Prevention and Munitions Independence

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu released an updated national security doctrine on October 18, placing prevention and offensive action, including preemptive strikes against developing threats, among its central principles. The doctrine also calls for stronger home-front defenses, an enhanced regional position and maximum independence in munitions production. It seeks to preserve Israel’s advanced technological superiority, expand opportunities for regional and wider alliances, and intensify the fight against antisemitism. Netanyahu formulated the doctrine with the assistance of the National Security Council and its director, Shmuel Ben Ezra.
