Environment Ministry Offers Up to NIS 3 Million for Tekuma Rodent Control

The Environment Ministry has announced up to NIS 3 million in assistance for rodent control in the Tekuma region of the western Negev. The program can reimburse up to 90% of approved spending by the Eshkol, Sha’ar Hanegev, Sdot Negev and Hof Ashkelon regional councils and the Western Negev municipal cluster. It covers prevention, monitoring, sanitary pest control and public information, with eligible spending running from July 1, 2026, to March 1, 2027. The support addresses an increase, mainly in field mice, that has affected crops and residential surroundings since the summer; the ministry’s assistance focuses on treatment inside communities.
