Ministries Warn Against Entering 8 Northern Streams and Pools

The Health Ministry and Environmental Protection Ministry warned on October 22 against entering 8 northern streams and pools after water tests found elevated bacteria. The advisory covers the Jordan River between Yosef and Arik bridges, Meshushim Pool, Jilabun, Zaki, Yehudiya, Majrase, El Al and Haruv Pool on Tzalmon Stream. Samples collected on October 20 exceeded the recommended threshold of 400 fecal coliform bacteria per 100 milliliters. The ministries said entry should be avoided until results return to normal and remain stable; the Environmental Protection Ministry had identified no known pollution source.
