Oak Research Flags Identity Visibility Gaps in 51% of Security Interviews

Oak, an identity-security software company operating in Tel Aviv and San Francisco, released research on October 20 based on 201 interviews across 93 organizations. In 103 conversations, about 51%, participants described incomplete visibility into identities and access; 76 raised applications outside identity-governance coverage, while 75 raised gaps involving non-human identities. The interviews ran from January through September 2026 and included security executives, identity specialists and practitioners. Oak conducted the qualitative research without surveys or questionnaires, so the findings describe themes in those conversations rather than prevalence across all enterprises.
