Brava Security Raises $15 Million to Test AI Cybersecurity Defenses
Israeli cybersecurity startup Brava Security disclosed $15 million in seed funding on November 4 to develop its AI security-testing platform and expand in North America. F2 Venture Capital and Pitango led the round. Individual investors include executives from Anthropic, Microsoft and Check Point; the announcement does not identify those companies as corporate investors. Brava says its system creates the digital traces that a cyberattack would leave in a customer's own environment without carrying out the attack itself. It then checks whether the organization's existing security tools recognize those traces. Chief executive and cofounder Idan Basre described the aim: ‘We check what they miss and fix the gaps.’ According to the company, the platform can rewrite detection rules, address failures in collecting or transmitting security records, and test whether the changes close the identified gaps. It works alongside existing security products. Brava says its customers include Fortune 100 companies in retail, energy and hospitality. Basre founded Brava with chief technology officer Itay Gabbay. The company has about 20 employees, a research-and-development center in Israel and a growing commercial team in the United States. It plans to use the financing for further product development and North American expansion, including opportunities in financial services and government.
