Sentra Raises $150 Million to Expand Data Security for AI Agents
Israeli cybersecurity company Sentra announced on November 4 that it had completed a $150 million financing round led by Capital One Ventures. The company develops tools to protect corporate information as businesses give artificial intelligence agents access to more of their systems. A Capital One representative will join Sentra’s board as part of the investment. Sentra reports annual growth of 300%, while declining to disclose its current valuation or revenue. Co-founder and chief executive Yoav Regev described the rapid spread of autonomous software agents as a challenge centered on information and access. “Artificial intelligence is a data problem,” Regev said. The company’s platform maps organizational information, identifies sensitive records and manages the permissions that determine who or what can reach them. According to Sentra, its technology can reduce excessive permissions and identify unusual activity by AI agents. It can also revoke access automatically when necessary to limit the exposure of corporate information. The company was founded in 2021 by Regev, Asaf Kochan, Ron Reiter and Yair Cohen. It employs 130 people, including 65 in Tel Aviv. Sentra says it will use the investment to expand research and development, recruit employees in Israel and abroad, and grow its sales operations. It also plans to expand in Europe, particularly London, where it sees demand linked to stricter information regulation. Regev said AI adoption is increasing the need for the company’s tools as organizations seek to introduce the technology while retaining control over their data.
