U.S. Reportedly Reduces Troop Presence at Middle East Bases Amid Iran Threats

The U.S. military has reduced personnel at bases across the Middle East in recent days, according to two U.S. officials and two people familiar with the matter. The State Department is also ordering further staffing reductions at several diplomatic posts in the region. Reported personnel movements include bases in Jordan, Qatar and Kuwait, with the measures responding to continuing regional threats, including Iran. President Donald Trump is weighing renewed military action in Iran amid those threats.
