Saranga Questions European UNRWA Funding After Gaza Teacher’s Account

Israeli diplomat David Saranga questioned European funding for UNRWA on Saturday after sharing a video in which a Gaza teacher alleged that the agency’s schools cultivated a culture of death. He singled out Belgium’s €27.5 million commitment for 2024–2026 and said the account raised questions about European taxpayer support for the organization. Belgium’s official announcement, last updated in April 2024, describes the package as core funding for 2024, 2025 and 2026 and says €13.5 million had already been paid for 2024.
