Herzog Voices Concern Over Dutch Relations as He Receives Five New Ambassadors

President Isaac Herzog received the credentials of new ambassadors from the Netherlands, France, Austria, Rwanda and Ghana in Jerusalem on October 26. Speaking with Dutch ambassador Stella Ronner-Grubačić, he voiced concern about Dutch public opinion and government rhetoric toward Israel, arguing that criticism overlooked Israel’s democratic character and its role in defending Europe. He praised King Willem-Alexander’s stance against antisemitism. Herzog discussed renewing cooperation with France and highlighted Austria’s warm ties and commitment to Holocaust remembrance. With Rwanda and Ghana’s envoys, he emphasized opportunities for cooperation in fields including agriculture, education, healthcare and water management.
