Dutch Foreign Minister Summons Israeli Ambassador Over Ramallah Diplomat Dispute

Dutch Foreign Minister Tom Berendsen said Monday that he had summoned Israel's ambassador to discuss Israel's decision to revoke the diplomatic status of Dutch staff in Ramallah. He said he wanted details of the measure and its effect on the mission. Israel gave the diplomats seven days to return their Israeli-issued documents after the Netherlands banned imports of goods from Israeli settlements. Berendsen called Israel's decision unnecessary.
