More Than 130 UK Legal Experts Call for Wider Sanctions on Israel

More than 130 British legal experts, including 18 king’s counsel, wrote to Prime Minister Andy Burnham urging a full arms embargo and broader economic restrictions against Israel. The letter called existing sanctions too narrow and sought limits on insurance, accountancy and digital infrastructure, plus confirmation that British public bodies and pension funds hold no investments in Israeli communities in Judea and Samaria. The government says its policy targets settlement activity rather than Israel, preserves trade with Israel inside the Green Line and rejects BDS. Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar called the accusations “outrageous lies” and said Labour was acting systematically against Israel.
