IDF Announces Search and Rescue Brigade Drill at Sites Across Israel

The IDF announced on November 1 that its Search and Rescue Brigade would begin a military exercise that Sunday at several locations across Israel. The drill is scheduled to continue throughout the week and will involve additional emergency forces and organizations alongside the brigade’s personnel. During the exercise, troops will rehearse scenarios involving several arenas and use their search and rescue capabilities. The IDF said the training is intended to strengthen the forces’ operational readiness and fitness. It will also practice their ability to respond to several sites on the home front at the same time, including in complex emergency scenarios. The announcement describes a coordinated exercise involving the brigade and the other participating emergency bodies. Residents may notice increased movements of security personnel and vehicles at a number of locations around the country while the training takes place. The IDF said, “There is no concern about a security incident.” It said the exercise had been planned in advance as part of Home Front Command’s training program for 2026. The announced activity is therefore scheduled training, with the brigade’s exercise continuing over the course of the week.
