Nadav Peri Disputes Reports About His NewMed Compensation

Nadav Peri, a former NewMed Energy executive, has challenged published estimates of his compensation during 11 years working with businessman Yitzhak Tshuva. In an interview with Roni Koven on Kan 11, Peri disputed both the calculation of a reported NIS 12 million figure and the way it had been presented. He did not disclose an alternative total. Peri said the NIS 12 million figure concerned compensation across his employment, rather than simply the amount of his departure arrangement. “I think there was a faulty calculation there,” he said. His comments did not establish how much he actually earned or the size of the arrangement he received when he left. He also disputed a report that his initial monthly salary had been NIS 60,000, saying it was lower without giving a figure. Asked about NIS 12 million, he said conditionally that even if the report were correct, most would have gone to income tax. That response did not confirm either the reported compensation or a particular tax payment. Peri joined Delek Drilling, subsequently renamed NewMed Energy, in 2015 after working at Channel 10. He served as vice president for regulation and public affairs. His work included the gas framework, approvals for Leviathan’s development and expansion, and the company’s communications strategy.
