Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar received Kazakhstan’s Deputy Prime Minister Zhaslan Madiyev at the Foreign Ministry in Jerusalem on November 2, ahead of a meeting of the countries’ Joint Economic Committee. The Israeli ministry described Madiyev as the most senior Kazakh official to visit Israel in the past decade. Madiyev arrived at the head of an economic delegation comprising more than 50 senior government officials and representatives of state-owned companies. Deputy ministers and regional governors are among those taking part. The Foreign Ministry said it had invited the delegation to Israel for the joint committee meeting, bringing the visiting officials and company representatives into the same bilateral program. The committee was scheduled to meet later on November 2, with Madiyev and Israeli Minister Ze’ev Elkin as co-chairs. Madiyev’s responsibilities include overseeing the development of Kazakhstan’s national artificial-intelligence program, according to the Israeli account of his visit. The delegation’s schedule also includes meetings with representatives of the Israel Innovation Authority, Israel Space Agency, National AI Directorate and Israel National Cyber Directorate, as well as Israeli companies. The visit follows trips to Kazakhstan by President Isaac Herzog and Sa’ar during the first half of 2026.
