NICE to Cut About 500 Jobs in Shift Toward AI Customer Service

NICE plans to eliminate approximately 500 jobs worldwide, about 5% of its workforce, as the Israeli software company reorganizes around artificial intelligence in customer service. The workforce reduction was disclosed on Tuesday, November 3. The company, based in Ra’anana and led by Scott Russell, is reallocating resources as customers adopt AI systems for their contact centers. In its response to the report, NICE said the organizational changes are intended to support customers deploying AI customer-experience systems across large enterprises. The company said: “We expect a reduction of approximately 5% in the company’s global workforce.” Its statement described a planned reduction, rather than confirming that all of the affected employees had already left. NICE said its immediate priority was to speak directly with affected colleagues and support them through the transition. The disclosed figure concerns the global workforce; the company’s response did not provide a detailed breakdown of how many jobs would be cut in Israel. The company’s 2025 annual report provides a dated picture of its staffing before this announcement. NICE reported 9,626 employees at December 31, 2025, compared with 8,726 at the end of 2024. That year-end figure is a historical baseline, rather than a confirmed headcount immediately before the newly disclosed cuts. NICE’s software businesses include customer-service systems and financial-fraud prevention.
