IDF Says 188th Brigade Found More Than 340 Hezbollah Weapons in Southern Lebanon
The IDF said on November 5 that troops of the 188th Brigade had located more than 340 Hezbollah weapons during operations in southern Lebanon's security zone. The brigade is operating under the 36th Division in the Beaufort Ridge and Litani River areas, with the stated aim of removing threats to Israeli civilians. The army's inventory included RPG rockets, anti-tank missiles, mortar shells, small arms, explosive devices, grenades and ammunition. Its announcement described the finds as part of the brigade's operations in the area. The IDF said the troops had deployed to southern Lebanon after approximately one year and eight months of operations in Gaza, followed by extensive training. Troops also found an underground shaft approximately seven meters deep inside a civilian home. The army said medical equipment and supplies for living were found inside it. The Hebrew announcement said the shaft was destroyed, while the English statement described its discovery and depth. The IDF released photographs and footage alongside its account of the weapons recovery and the shaft. The army presented the searches as continuing work to remove threats in the security zone while maintaining its commitment to the ceasefire. The IDF said: "The IDF will continue to operate to remove threats and remains committed to the ceasefire agreement."
