Yamam Arrests Shfar'am Mosque-Shooting Suspect

Israel Police and Shin Bet said at 23:20 IDT that Yamam fighters arrested the suspect who fled after an overnight shooting at a mosque in Shfar'am, following prolonged searches and Shin Bet intelligence guidance. An update at 23:26 said two additional suspects were also detained, with all suspects transferred for joint Shin Bet and Northern District Police interrogation. The earlier shooting caused no injuries and an Acre court imposed a gag order on investigation details. The case shows why fast intelligence-led policing matters inside Israel: religious sites and Arab communities deserve firm protection from armed intimidation under Israeli law.
