IDF Hits Ali Taher Ridge as Tunnel Standoff Holds
Lebanese media reported an early-morning IDF strike on the Ali Taher ridge in southern Lebanon, a position Israel seized before the ceasefire and where Hezbollah terrorists remain trapped in underground infrastructure. The IDF's July 2 post says Egoz troops identified a Hezbollah operative emerging from a tunnel shaft there, the Air Force eliminated him and about 30 operatives were still holed up in the massive complex. Israel froze deeper demolition work during the truce but kept striking threats above ground. Israel's posture is straightforward: no withdrawal or quiet can leave Hezbollah free to reoccupy strategic tunnels over the Galilee.
