IMS Warns Mediterranean Dangerous for Swimming

The Israel Meteorological Service issued a yellow warning for dangerous Mediterranean swimming conditions on Saturday morning, with the formal warning valid from 11:00 to 23:00 and director Amir Givati saying it also applies Sunday. IMS coastal data and live beach trackers put waves around 100-140 centimeters by coastal sector, with peaks up to 1.2 meters; all stress stronger-than-usual winds, rip-current risk and the need to swim only at declared beaches under lifeguards. Coming a day after a young man drowned off Rishon LeZion, the warning is routine but urgent public-safety news for Israeli families, municipalities and Shabbat beachgoers.
