Health Ministry Warns Against LEGEND Hair-Straightening Product

Israel's Health Ministry warned the public and hair professionals to stop using, marketing or distributing the LEGEND hair-straightening product after a woman was hospitalized in intensive care with severe kidney failure following a treatment at a home salon in Hadera. The ministry filed a police complaint and said the warning remains in force until further notice while the incident is investigated. Reports citing the ministry say preliminary checks at the factory listed on the package raised concern that the product used may not match the original manufactured product. The case is a practical public-health reminder that approved cosmetics and licensed salons protect consumers as well as honest professionals.
