Tax Authority Busts Steroid Export Ring Disguised as Cosmetics
Tax Authority and Health Ministry investigators arrested four suspects after a more than year-long covert probe into an alleged network that manufactured, distributed, sold and exported anabolic steroids disguised as cosmetics. Reports say packages were sent from Israel to the United States in 2023-2025 under false declarations, sometimes with fictitious names and addresses, and returned packages were found to contain steroids and other medicines. Investigators suspect hidden production sites supplied gyms and bodybuilders in Israel, while undeclared income reached millions of shekels and some payments moved through digital currency. The enforcement protects public health and lawful business by blocking dangerous substances and tax evasion.
